apps4nsw edition

Sydney, Saturday 20 March

Do you have an idea for a useful website or application that uses NSW government data? Do you want to turn your ideas into reality in a fun and free one-day event?

The OpenAustralia Foundation invites you to a totally free one day hackfest timed to coincide with the deadline for the apps4nsw competition.

This event has been made possible by the generous support of the NSW Government Chief Information Office and National ICT Australia.

The apps4nsw competition is for people like you to create ideas and prototypes of applications of NSW government data. There are large cash prizes!

Our hackfest is a one day mini-version of the competition designed to promote the apps4nsw competition and to give extra incentive for people to take part. Get some people together, join a team or work on your own for the day. At the end of the day everyone who wants to gets a chance to do a quick fire demo of what they've come up with... Bask in the adulation of your peers and maybe you'll win a prize!

It's a friendly, playful and fun way to make new cool stuff.

We provide the space, wifi, power some truly fabulous prizes and you bring a laptop, your brains, wit and enthusiasm!

Where: NICTA (National ICT Australia), Australian Technology Park, Level 5, 13 Garden Street, Eveleigh NSW 2015 (Map)

When: Saturday 20 March 10am-5pm

What you need to bring: A laptop with wifi, laptop charger, your enthusiasm

What we provide: Lunch and refreshments, tea, coffee, wifi, power outlets, prizes!

How to get there

Public transport is by far your best option for travel to the event. The venue is a short walk from Redfern train station. There are also buses that go nearby. For specific service information and timetables visit 131500.

If you decide to travel by car there is parking available at the Australia Technology Park but it's pricey at $30.00 for the day.
